Aikido Shinryukan is celebrating its
40th Anniversary Gasshuku in March 2010. Nobuo Takase Shihan invites all
past and
present members to come together and participate in this wonderful occasion.
This is an excellent opportunity for Aikido practitioners of all levels,
to train with and experience first hand several world
renowned Aikido masters, who have dedicted their lives to Aikido.

Yamashima Shihan of Tokyo,
Japan. A long-time student of Seigo
Yamaguchi, Yamashima Shihan instructs at the Chiyoda-ku Aikikai, Minami
Tanaka Dojo and Nerima Aikido Rengokai Dojo.

2008: International Aikikai Federation Gasshuku
The IAF conducted its international
aikido conference in Tenabe, Japan. Several Kiwis attended, including
two of our Wellington students.

September 2008: Wellington Seminar with Yamashima Shihan (7th Dan)
Wellington Aikido Club hosted a seminar with Yamashima
Shihan from Tokyo, Japan.
Yamashima Shihan is chief instructor for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police.

July 2008: Wellington Seminar with Toshiharu Sawada Shihan (7th Dan)
Sawada Shihan has visited
New Zealand several times, but this is the first time that he joined us
in
Wellington. Chief instructor of the Kimori Dojo in Nagoya, Japan, Sawada
Shihan was generous with
his time and taught several morning and evening sessions.

June 2008: Shinryukan Gasshuku in Tauranga
Aikido Shinryukan organised
a special seminar with both Nobuo Takase Shihan (7th Dan) and Toshiharu
Sawada Shihan (7th Dan). Several students from the Wellington Aikido Club
participated in this weekend
event.

his leadership and teaching for many years. Wellington Aikido Club is

Auckland
Shinryukan welcomes Masuda-Shihan (8th Dan) to the March 2008 Gasshuku.
An excellent opportunity for intensive training with aikidoka from all
over New Zealand.

February 2008: Alan Roberts (5th Dan) Wellington Workshop
Alan
Roberts-Sensei of Aikido of Auckland (Iwama) visited Wellington for a
two-day seminar.
Many of our students attended the training and informal surveys suggest
that most everyone
learned something new and enjoyed themselves.

February 2008: Aikido Shinryukan of Gisbourne 40th Anniversary
Alan
Wade-Shihan has invited us to attend his dojo's 40th Anniversary weekend.
The club has
organised free accommodation (e.g. dormitory style or billets) including
breakfast and evening BBQ.
Alan-sensei also promises Gisbourne's usual sunny warm weather, and hopes
we can all attend.

Aikido
Shinryukan Canterbury celebrated its 17th birthday with a weekend seminar.

2007 Gasshuku.
Several members of the Wellington dojos attended the March Gasshuku. It
was an excellent
opportunity for intensive training and to catch-up with old friends around
New Zealand.
